Gum Springs Baptist Church

Wade has served as pastor at Gum Springs Baptist Church since March 1, 2024. In addition to serving at Gum Springs Baptist Church, Wade served at his previous church as Student Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Interim Senior Pastor.

Wade loves preaching and teaching the Word of God. He and his wife, Jamey, have two sons, Jack & James, and a grandson, Jack Allen III, also known as “Little Jack.” Little Jack is the son of Wade’s oldest son, Jack Allen II, and his wife, Leslie Allen.

Wade retired from full-time law enforcement in 2019 after 25 years of service and still serves part-time. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion: Biblical and Theological Studies from Liberty University-Rawlings School of Divinity and an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Wake Technical Community College. Wade loves the Lord and His Word and is amazed and thankful for God’s mercy, love, and grace.

Our Music and Programs Director is Sherry Knepper.

Sherry is one of the fourth generation of her family to serve Gum Springs. She left the area for college & to raise a family. In 2021, she & her husband returned to GS full-time. When the pianist & her family left the area, Sherry volunteered for the job & shortly thereafter restarted the choir.

“May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints” (1 Thess. 3:12-13).

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).
